Back in October, the American Kickboxing Academy fighter beat Brock Lesnar for the UFC heavyweight title, but Velasquez’s next opponent could be his toughest yet: boredom.

Tickets for Strikeforce’s debut in Ohio and the accompanying championship doubleheader go on sale beginning Tuesday.

That’s when subscribers to the organization’s free “Strikeforce Insider” e-newsletter can purchase tickets, beginning at 11 a.m. ET (8 a.m. PT).

The general public then can purchase tickets beginning on Friday.

Strikeforce’s live-gate revenue just barely outpaced its disclosed payroll for “Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Cyborg.” 

A total of 8,817 paid attendees generated a live gate of $533,214.50, according to figures the California State Athletic Commission today emailed to MMAjunkie.com.

The weekend event’s disclosed fighter payroll was $463,500, as we previously reported.
