‘Mayday’ McDonald Ready For Big Day
Frank Curreri, WEC – “Mayday.” It’s a rather unique nickname for a pro fighter, and a moniker that Michael McDonald reluctantly inherited from teammates and considered “stupid.” The vague descriptor was a far cry from the epithet that McDonald really fancied: The Prodigy. He resisted the urge to share the same nickname as BJ Penn, despite the title seeming to fit McDonald perfectly since he too had enjoyed extraordinary success at a young age inside of a steel cage.
