The UFC has officially requested approval for a Jan 2 event at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
As MMAjunkie.com first reported in September, the
UFC’s traditional “year-end” event in Las Vegas is slotted for after
the new year, and a formal request for the date will now be considered
by the Nevada State Athletic Commission on Oct. 16.
In addition to the new UFC date, the NSAC will also address a request
by controversial Dutch striker Gilbert Yvel for a license to fight in
the state and conduct a disciplinary hearing for WEC featherweight Cole
Province.
